MyRateSM Device
Just Plug In and Drive
The MyRate device fits in the palm of your hand and plugs in just below your car's steering wheel. It can read driving information including the length of your trips, braking and acceleration, and the time of day you drive.
How does the MyRate device work?
Your MyRate device will share your driving information with us wirelessly so we can start calculating your renewal rate. You can view your data when you log in to your policy.
What does the MyRate device record?
The MyRate device records speed and time. From that data, we can determine the number of miles you drive, the time of day you drive and how aggressively you drive. The MyRate device does not keep track of where you are.
Does the MyRate device work on all cars?
You can request a MyRate device for every vehicle on your policy that was manufactured in 1996 and later. Some 1996 or newer model cars may not qualify, but we'll let you know immediately if they don't.
Why can't I get a MyRate device if my car is older than 1996?
Vehicles older than 1996 do not have the diagnostic port that's required for use with our device.
