How You Drive Could Save You Money
The MyRate program is Progressive's Pay As You DriveSM insurance option that rewards safe driving. If you're a safe driver, you could save money on auto insurance — all you have to do is plug the MyRate device into your car and drive as you normally would. You could save 5 percent or more just for signing up.*
The MyRate Program Works in 4 Easy Steps:
Once you've enrolled in the program, we'll send you a MyRate device.
You should receive the MyRate device within 7 to 10 days. Then, just plug the small device into your vehicle's diagnostic port and drive.
The MyRate device wirelessly shares your driving information with us.
When you participate in the MyRate program, the price you pay for insurance is based on how much you drive and your driving behavior. When you choose the MyRate option, we consider certain driving habits, including:
- How far you drive
- When you drive
- How aggressively you drive.
You can view driving reports and your projected MyRate discounts online.
Once you're enrolled in the MyRate program, log in to your policy and:
- See if your driving habits earned you a discount.
- See your recent trips.
- Review your driving habits by day of the week or time of day.
- Compare your driving to other MyRate participants.
- Review easy-to-read charts and graphs about your driving information.
Every 6 months, your rate will be updated based on your driving habits.
For each renewal term, you could receive a savings of up to 25 percent based on your driving behavior. In order to qualify for these renewal rates, your MyRate device will need to record at least 30 days of your driving first and must remain plugged in during your policy term to continue your participation in the MyRate program.
In some states, you may pay a surcharge that could result in a higher price for auto insurance dependent on your driving habits (no more than 9 percent). Discounts and surcharges do not apply to all coverages in all states.
Safer drivers could receive discounts on their auto insurance, while other drivers may pay more based on their driving habits.
